Recent Fairmont Hotel Macdonald Review: "When we arrived at the hotel we wanted to self-park, which involved a trek through a construction site with our bags to get to the hotel from the parking gararge, which wasn't a great start to our stay. Then we were given a room that was dirty, but the hotel staff were very nice, gave us a new room and even upgraded our room for free. The room was very nice (with a nice tv that my husband was happy about), but it wasn't the cleanest hotel room we've stayed in (my 2 year old found some old food he wanted to eat), and the room was on the cold side, even with the heat up. The location is good if you have a car as it is easy to get to, but if you are only walking there are still some shady areas along this end of Jasper avenue, although it has improved a lot over the last couple of years."
